Marwa Moharam is an artist and designer born in Cairo to an Egyptian father and an Italian mother. Moharam’s first encounter with art was back in 1996 when she started working in her aunt's art & antiques gallery in Zamalek for 2 years.
In 1998, she started her journey in Rome, where she stepped into the world of Fashion, and and then moved to the UAE in 2001, where she gained her knowledge and experience in public relations and marketing. She then pursued her passion in designing and collecting art, and founded ‘Cairo Koshk’, her first concept store displaying and exhibiting her recycled pieces of arts, with other Egyptian artists products for the first time in Dubai.
After 12 years, Moharam returned to Egypt in 2010 and began developing her art skills in drawing and painting, in parallel with her work of designing which never stopped.
She is known for her creative twist on ordinary objects, that’s where she draws her main inspiration from. Bits of scrap paper, vintage fabrics, neglected pieces of furniture, everything and anything can inspire her to create something authentic and rare. Many of her pieces are modern designs that incorporate old fabrics, plants motifs, nomad clothes, other designers, among others. The main theme of her current collection is Boho street wear, and some evening outfits.
